Visiting St. Mary’s Church of the Frescoes West Jefferson NC, a moving experience. The frescoes painted in the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in West Jefferson NC, were painted by Ben Long. Mr. Long is from Statesville NC, but trained in frescoe painting in Italy. Over time he painted three beautiful and thought provolking frescoes in the church. The larger one is Christ on the cross, with two smaller ones on either side. One of Mary with Child and the other of John the Baptist.
He also painted frescoes in another local church in Glendale Springs, NC; Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Be sure to check out that video as well.
